CORONAVIRUS
Latest Advice
Symptoms
The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:
  • New continuous cough and/or
  • High temperature
  • loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness If you have coronavirus symptoms:
  • Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital
  • You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home
  • Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home
  • Plan ahead and ask others for help to ensure that you can successfully stay at home and consider what can be done for vulnerable people in the household
  • Ask your employer, friends and family to help you to get the things you need to stay at home
  • Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, each time using soap and water, or use hand sanitiser
  • If you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home, or your condition gets worse, or your symptoms do not get better after 7 days, then use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service. If you do not have internet access, call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999
  • Visit NHS 111 Online for more information

Stay at Home
  • If you live alone and you have symptoms of coronavirus illness (COVID-19), however mild, stay at home for 7 days from when your symptoms started. (See ending isolation section below for more information)
  • If you live with others and you or one of them have symptoms of coronavirus, then all household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill
  • It is likely that people living within a household will infect each other or be infected already. Staying at home for 14 days will greatly reduce the overall amount of infection the household could pass on to others in the community
  • For anyone in the household who starts displaying symptoms, they need to stay at home for 7 days from when the symptoms appeared, regardless of what day they are on in the original 14 day isolation period. (See ending isolation section below for more information
  • If you can, move any vulnerable individuals (such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions) out of your home, to stay with friends or family for the duration of the home isolation period
  • If you cannot move vulnerable people out of your home, stay away from them as much as possible

COVID-19

Changes to our operations and service

Please bear with us and be kind to our staff. We are exceptionally busy.

Notice for Dyfed Road Surgery Patients
Please be aware that the restrictions have now been lifted at Dyfed Road Surgery as to which pharmacy you can use to get your prescriptions dispensed.

You are now welcome to come back to Dyfed Road Pharmacy and we look forward to seeing you.

If you get your prescriptions from our Parkgate (Pontypridd) and Dyfed Road (Neath) branches, the best way to order them is by email if you are able to. Prescription ordering via the website for these two branches has been temporarily disabled.

For Parkgate, email  parkgate@aah-n3.co.uk
For Dyfed Road, email dyfedroadpharmacy@aah-n3.co.uk

If you get your prescriptions from our Castle branch in Neath or our Queen's Road branch in Skewen, please continue to order them via the website as normal. Queen's Road Customers can now use a dedicated repeat prescription order line open Monday - Friday between 9am and 1pm. The number to call is 01792324584.

Our current opening hours are:

Castle pharmacy, Neath 10am-1pm and 2pm-5.30pm
Dyfed Road Pharmacy, Neath 9.30am-12pm and 1pm-6pm
Queen’s Road pharmacy, Skewen 10am-1pm and 2pm-6pm
Parkgate pharmacy, Pontypridd 10am-1pm and 2pm-6pm

  • We are not able to allow customers into the pharmacies at the moment unfortunately but we do have Perspex screens with a hatch so that prescriptions can be handed in and out.
  • Due to the fact that Castle Surgery is closed the only way you can collect your prescription from Castle Pharmacy is to go to the back door and call the mobile number displayed on the notice.
A member of the pharmacy team will then bring your prescription to the back door.

Please note, there are two queues at the back door, one for the pharmacy and one for the surgery.
  • We try to dispense urgent prescriptions, such as antibiotics and inhalers on the same day.
  • Repeat prescriptions for collection take at least 7 days and if you require a delivery it can take up to 10 days but in an emergency we should be able to do something quicker.
  • When you drop off your prescription in the morning, you will usually be asked to collect it later that day.
  • We are still offering the sale of over the counter medicines, paracetamol tablets are available and we are hoping that the suspension will also be available soon.

We are doing our best to answer the phone but we are inundated I'm afraid.
Please be kind to the staff as they are working under incredibly stressful circumstances.

Jones Pharmacy Group
